Bill Cunningham: "Dunn was drunk in LF." Adam Dunn: Comments were over the line.

    http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.d...PT04/709050348

    Here is the article.

    Here are excerpts.
The next day, Cunningham said Griffey should never wear a Reds uniform again, and said Dunn was drunk during the game.

"Adam Dunn looks like a monkey with a football in left field," Cunningham said. "He has to have consequences for what he does. That is again a loafing ballplayer who ... would have blew a .15 if someone gave (him) the intoxilizer last night. I say .15. The son of a gun is drunk. And he's playing baseball in left field for the Redlegs."

Before Tuesday's game against the New York Mets, Dunn said Cunningham's comments were out of bounds.

"Isn't there a line?" Dunn said. "I think that goes over the line. We might want to do something about that."

Willie went down to the clubhouse this morning to apologize.

He was joking and it was schtick.

I thought he was drunk too. I even posted some comments that were made at a local establishment while we were watching the game.

If you're voting for Cunningham to be suspended, why? Bakc up your opinion.

I say a little over the line and the apology makes it all good.

Dunn doesn't look all that sober in that picture in the article. However, joking or not, comments like that are unnecessary and obsurd.

I say suspend him. Comments like that are unnecessary.

I agree. Willie went over the line as he often does.

Unless he was really trying to deceive people into believing Dunn was drunk and it was obvious humor I don't think they are out of bounds.

I want to know why a guy like Greg Doyel was bashing Cunningham over this this morning. Doyel, the same guy who calls Griffey and Dunn spineless and gutless on a daily basis, takes offense to this?

Seems a little hypocritical to me.

I say let Dunn and Cunningham settle it the "country way" in the clubhouse behind closed doors. When Dunn lifts him off of his feet by the neck, the comments will cease.

Way over the line. Just another person bashing someone who does things that they could never do.

My guess is that Dunn hasn't given it much thought other than answering the question with the obvious answer - it was over the line.

    Not the same.

Cunningham alluded to Dunn doing something HE DID NOT DO.
Cunningham is being bashed for something HE DID DO.

    Big difference.
