  1. I’ve been here almost since the beginning and seen hundreds come and go. For me I don’t post as much as I used to and just seem to post more on sticking up for Boyle when the haters hate. I like to go by a Chuck Smith approach. “We let our pads do our talking”. Since I brought up Chuck…….Chuck Smith can win a game of connect four in 3 moves!

  2. Totally true. If true, this is clearly a loss to high school sports and young men in the NKY area. Wins or losses aside, by all accounts, Coach Brossart was a strong leader of young men. Unfortunately, as I, and a lot of others, have said in previous threads, good coaches getting out of the industry is only going to happen more often with the current culture of parents and administrators. That is probably fitted more for a separate thread. However, with that said, if this is the end for Coach Brossart, thank you for what you have done for young men in the nky/cincy area! You

  3. AL wild card game is in the books. On a side note, this is always one of my very favorite sports days of the year. The day the Yankees are officially eliminated.

  4. Trinity is riding high after knocking off Ohio #1 St. X. But I don't think this is a runaway win for the young Rocks. They surely want to continue their newly found winning ways, but Ballard can get the ball downfield quick and in a hurry. The T secondary needs to come in alert. This will be a hostile and loud environment. The Bruins have no reason to believe they can't win. T- 38 B- 21

  5. Definitely, no one knows that time these coaches put in unless they’ve done it, had a spouse do it, or have been around it.

  7. Also, Tiffany is officially the worstttttt. I hope she, Evvie, and Liana are the next three to go. The "oh, we need to start a girls alliance because if we don't there's going to be a guy's alliance" is so played out. It seems like there are at least one or two "girls alliances" every season, and I can only think of like one or two guys alliances in the last 8 or 9 seasons combined.

  9. When you tell me that #12 and #17 aren't playing, I'll feel better. Go ahead and throw #33 in there as well. 😁

  10. I don't have any info on whether or not Coach Brossart has any intent on stepping down, but I do know he and Dixie's athletic director Derek Bosse are really close. They've coached together since Brossart's time at Cov Cath. I would have to imagine Derek is as well informed as anyone aside from Coach Brossart.

  11. That is a good breakdown. MC offensively has a sophomore back with 10 + tds and averaging about 9 ypc. Their WR #7 has an EKU offer and is a freak athlete and their junior LT has a UK and WVU offer. New QB came out for the team in week 2 and is now the starter, real good athlete but struggles on short passes, quite possibly the fastest kid on the team. Defense has been their strength. Their DL gave Pikeville fits, which is one of the biggest and toughest OL’s in the state, even for a 1A team. Big injury to their sophomore LB Hardge, who is an absolute stud. Out with a torn ACL. 4

  12. We agree on something! Right now he 100% is. 2 weeks from now it likely goes back to Cal. Cal is starting to get his lottery picks back and hopefully another trip to the final 4.

  13. If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend it. A quasi-documentary, it mixes good old fashion hard ball with physics and brain chemistry to emphasize how hard it is to hit a Major League pitcher. Narrated by Kevin Costner, it goes into the careers of some of the best. Walter Johnson, Bob Feller, Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, and of course, Nolan Ryan.

  14. I don’t understand that either. MC strength is definitely defense. Not great on offense but can run the football. MCentral is trending up due to coaching change. Lots of young talent.

  19. OleMiss is a solid third IMO, offense is very difficult to defend for most and their defense is underrated IMO.

  20. I miss Coach Yeagle. He is a great coach and even better person. When my brother played for him and our father had a heart attack, Coach Yeagle and Coach Rash were the first 2 people to come see us and gave such encouraging words. I will never forget that.

  22. I have talked to a couple of people in the last week that both told me there is talk circulating that this may be Coach Brossart's last year at Dixie. Nothing concrete, but that "rumor" is definitely making the rounds around NKY.

  27. I still think it's mostly for shortage of officials. Two crews have told us that and I've now seen far more 5 man crews this year than the last 3 or 4. One white hat told me there were guys throwing flags who had no business even dressing yet. Shortage is getting worse.

  30. NDA beat Holmes 10-0, and the only thing to comment on is to double down on prior comment that 17-0 is NOT necessary. Holmes parents were vocal at the game cheering their kids on, and were vocal in appreciation of good sportsmanship. Hopefully due to weather, NDA vs Beechwood is moved to not be played at Holy Cross

  31. Good point. I honestly forgot they played Henry Co.

  32. The Beechwood Holy Cross game was a much better game than the first time around. 0-0 end of the first half then Beechwood scored 15 minutes into the second half. Holy Cross tied it up with a long shot by Addison Saalfeld then the defensive battle continued. As the rain started and the sun set regulation ended in a tie, then the first OT ended in a tie. Beechwood put the ball on the back of the net about midway through the second OT. As much as I would have loved to see the Indians win, I am glad it didn’t come down to shooting PKs in the dark in the rain on a muddy grass field.

  33. Bishop Brossart will be the only team to remain unbeaten. Raceland and Pikeville will knock off the other 2.

  39. 2:30 left in the game and Mayfield ran the ball (long run by Galbreath) to the 5 yard line of Caldwell. We took a knee on the 5 to end the game. Coach Joe is a class act.
