I believe next year is her last year. Her son graduates this year and Sydney graduates next year. I think she will give it one more run, and see what she can do.

Second son graduates from Boone this year and perhaps she will look to hand over the reigns to someone else.

Again, supposition on my part and perhaps totally wrong. Some don't give up easily. Look at me I'm......mumble, mumble......years old and I'm still working!
LOL on retirement. They have been saying that about Mueller of Highlands for the last what 5-6 yrs now and hes won 4 straight State Championships. The great coaches and educators of our kids dont stop or slow down, they actually get better each yr. Coach Fookes is one of those great coaches along with Dawn of NewCath. The more yrs they actually coach the easier it gets, there is no real pressure for these veterans to win, they just do. These types of coaches are "sick" with success and its their passion for the game and kids that drive and motivate them, not the wins or the champsionships. JMO.

    Good Luck Breds!
BigDP, the former coach of NewCath is not in the same league as Coach Dawn, JMO. That coach lost with some of NCs best girls players ever and Coach Dawn is winning with good players. I dont really care why the former coach doesnt lead the Breds anymore, but as you have stated I have my own opininions and as an outsider with zero "dog in fight" I am simply calling it as I see it.

I agree totally. Coach Dawn is the man. He really did a great job this year and the NC girls should be proud.
