    10th region awards

The list is out for the 10th region coaches 2019-20 awards. Most of the list seems to make sense.

Biggest upset (but maybe not a surprise) Marie Kiefer wins POY over Kennedy Igo. Although I think Meredith would have won it anyway if she hadnít gotten hurt. Donít like how coaches spread around their votes because I do think some 2nd and 3rd team players are too low while some 1st and 2nd team are too high.

    1st team
    Marie Kiefer
    Kennedy Igo
    Mallory Holbrook
    Zoe Strings
    Sofia Allen

    2nd team
    Jaylyn Jackson
    McLain Murphy
    Tyra Flowers
    Hayden Barrier
    Brianna Byers

    3rd team
    Chez Tye
    Kaitlin Ecklar
    Rachel Payne
    Kylie Koeninger
    Jamie Cowan

I've watched both numerous times...Kiefer impacts the game more...not a knock on Igo cause she's a college point guard but that length and athleticism cant be taught.

I can't fairly say that Keifer impacts the game more than Igo, because I have not seen Igo play this year. But Keifer is an incredibly disruptive in a variety of ways. Averages a double-double and the difference she makes on the defensive side of the ball is huge. Best girls player I've seen this year by far.

Igo can play...she runs her team and makes the right plays...Kiefer just swallows you up on defense and can score the basketball...if I'm not mistaken she is a better Volleyball player...Wow she is athletic and can move.

Kiefer being voted POY seems to be the logical choice. She’s at the top of nearly every stat category in 10th region. On top of that Her team is the #1 team In the 10th and beat Igo’s team head to head. Hard to argue against that!

Igo is a 19 year old Senior on a team of underclassman. I would expect her stats to be much higher this season. Instead, they have declined. The one thing that really jumps off at me is in the weekly region stat updates Igo doesn’t even qualify to be on the list for the assists category and she’s a PG. One would think with her scoring being down her assists would be up but that’s just not the case according to the weekly stats.

Again, I feel like the Coaches got this one right. Would have really been interesting if Mia Meredith hadn’t got hurt.
