Who are the top linebackers in Kentucky for 2020?

This position looks much stronger at the top than it did a year ago. A handful of Kentucky-bred linebackers already have several FBS offers apiece.

To get things rolling, here are a few guys that every team in the state wishes they had:

    Jack Dingle - Trinity
    6'4", 215 lbs
Offers from UofL, Cincinnati, Miami(OH), and Western Michigan

Junior Year - Jack Dingle highlights - Hudl

    Tristan Cox - Pulaski County
    6'3", 235 lbs
    2019: 94 tackles/20 TFL/3 sacks/1 int.
Offers from UK, UofL, WVU, Purdue, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, and Marshall, among others

Tristan Cox #25 Junior Season - Tristan Cox highlights - Hudl

    Michael Lunz - North Hardin
    6'3", 230 lbs
    2019: 78 tackles/19 TFL/3 sacks/3 ints.
Offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Western Michigan, Toledo, and Navy, among others

Junior Szn Highlights - Michael Lunz II highlights - Hudl

    Charlie Ely - Trinity
    6'2", 225 lbs
Offers from Army, Air Force, Kent State, and EKU, among others

219 Junior Year Highlights - Charlie Ely highlights - Hudl

    Austin Gough - Owensboro
    6'1", 210 lbs
Missed the first eight games last year, due to injury. Made 1st team all-state as a sophomore in 2018.

Brandon Stearman, senior, Trinity. He had a pick-6 against Male late in the first half in the 2019 championship game. He and Ely are tough in the middle.

The Rocks are loaded at this position. Probably the best linebacking corp in the state.

This is an impressive list of athletes. That's some God-given physical attributes and talent. If they can put that together with strong effort, character, and skilled guidance from their coaches the future is indeed bright for these young men.

Just an update, Tristan Cox committed to Purdue this week. Huge win for Purdue! Coach Brohm pulled another out of KY

Brandt (6’1” 210) and Braeden (6’0” 220) are going to be a problem this year for CAL. Not sure what’s up with their recruiting.

Not just the LBs though, the entire defense will be hard to get past this year.
