    W. Ky Small School Rankings - Wk2 results

    After the 1st 2 weeks of the season and with the addition of Metcalfe Co, Glasgow and Monroe Co, here's this weeks results:

    T1) Trigg Co - (4) 84 pts (2-0)
    T1) Mayfield - (4) 84 pts (1-0)
    3) Tilghman (1) 75 pts (0-2)
    4) Owens Catholic - 46 pts (0-2)
    5) Ft Campbell - 45 pts (0-2)
    6) Russellville - 43 pts (1-1)
    7) Glasgow - 34 pts (2-0)
    8) Metcalfe Co - 32 pts (2-0)
    9) Fulfon City - 21 pts (2-0)
    10) McLean Co 16 pts (2-0)

    Others receiving votes : Heath - 8 pts (1-1)

    The Trigg Co Wildcats remained at #1 this week, but, now has a little company, as the Cardinals of Mayfield moved into a tie for the top spot. The Wildcats were challenged by Calloway Co Lakers, but, prevailed in the end in a high scoring affair 48-34. The Cardinals were idle this week. Both had 4 1st place votes. Paducah Tilghman(0-2), for the 2nd consecutive week lost a heart breaker to another very solid 6a Graves Co team, 18-15. Despite the loss, the Tornadoes still earned 1 1st place vote. Owensboro Catholic, also 0-2, lost to 5a power and crosstown rival Owensboro Sr 24-6, but, still moved up a spot to #4. Ft Campbell (0-2) dropped a spot to #5 after taking it on the chin to the air assault of Warren East 52-27...

    Russellville headed up the lower portion of the Top 10, coming in at #6, despite a heartbreaking loss to a much improved 6a Daviess Co 26-23. Glasgow was next at #7, as the Scotties improved there record to 2-0 with an impressive thumping of Crittenden Co 49-6. Metcalfe Co won a thriller against the always tough Somerset Briarjumpers 14-7, to come in at #8. Fulton City, once again was impressive, both offensively and defensively and won in a big way 40-0, over boarder rival S.Fulton, Tn, to come in at #9, while McLean Co(2-0) rounded out the top 10 after an impressive win over the Tigers of Murray High, 19-13...

    Caldwell Co and Murray, both 0-2 to start the season, dropped out of this weeks rankings while the Heath Pirates bounced back after there season opening loss to Mayfield to knock off Carbondale, Il 32-16 to be only other team to garner any consideration in the poll...
