I agree, congrats on your LCA crew being at #2 in this one though.

The Lit Ratings, as with the Cantrall ratings, will iprove as the season goes along. But there are a couple comical rankings right now:

    My favorite is in 3A:
    #3 Russellville
    #4 Somerset

Exactly. There has to be a magic number assigned at the start. Most of the time that magic number comes from the previous year. So teams like CovCath will start with a high number and usually thats okay because they will win a lot of games. You only notice it when the team is not nearly as good as the previous year.

I don't know, with the Lit and AP polls putting the Tigers at #1 and another publication ranking them as #15 in the country the 2-1 Rocks would strike me as a distinct underdog in the upcoming game on the 28th.

Interesting to compare Cantrall, Massey and Litkenhous this week on one particular game ... Lone Oak vs. Calloway County.

Cantrall ... Lone Oak is a 10-point favorite.
Massey ... Lone Oak is an 8-point favorite.
Litkenhous ... Lone Oak is a 36-point favorite.

I like this system and I think it will get better over the course of the season. Everybody knows that 6 teams aren't better than Rockcastle in 4-A.

If the Litkenhous Ratings are based on a mathematical formula, the mathematician who designed the formula needs to be fired.

This is the biggest joke I have ever seen! In defense, maybe there is not enough data at this point of the season. If so, then wait until week 5, 6, or 7 to unveil this poor excuse for a poll.

The Courier-Journal needs to look elsewhere for a more reliable source to rate these teams.

Not sure about this one THIS early in the year. Showing rankings of teams higher that someone who beat them does not make sense to me either. All that matters to me is who walks out of Louisville with the hardware!!!!
