That is a pretty fair statement and asessment. I agree.

I like the buzz you are giving this game. You will be catching LexCath at a down time and possibly without their star back. The LexCath offense isn't close to where it was the last time these two played. On the other hand the defense is better and there is more size but less overall speed. I think LexCath will wear the Panthers down eventually but it may be an interesting game for a half or so.

I thought I had better post the actual scripture for my fellow catholics since you know we can't quote the scripture like you all!

As bad as I hate to call it I'll go Lex Cath 49- Pikeville 14 on LC's reserves. You can't beat Hazard you won't sniff LC.
Pikeville did beat Hazard 42-6 last year also...they either looked great or terrible last year...hopefully they are past that and stay focused all the time...they have seemed to be very intense in all 3 of their games...

What is wrong with Israel exactly, and if he plays how healthy will he be??? 80%, 70%...

Edit: I thought these two teams had only played once - long ago in the Pike County Bowl when Pikeville won...I think it was one of the very first years of LC's football program...

BTW, going by the Cantrall ratings in the paper today...Lex Cath is about a 22-point favorite...

I think you are correct. I got Pikeville and Prestonsburg confused. LexCath beat P'burg in 2003.

When was the last time these two played? Pikeville and LexCath have only played once and that was in 1993.

The mountain teams will be have a hard enough time beating Lexington Christian in 1A, and I am not even sure they could play catholic within 10.

I don't think there is any disrespect that is meant towards Pikeville in predicting Lex Catholic as the winner , in fact, I respect Pikeville even more by taking on a 4A team.

Similar to KnightsDad, I am impressed by the 'buzz' this game is making here on Bluegrass preps - so far about 40 comments have been made, and over 640 views of the thread. Pikeville is a small school, and yet there is a huge interest by the locals -- it really goes to show how the 'mountain teams' love their grid iron boys, and that is good for Kentucky High School Football!

In a blowout, Lex Cath 52- Pikeville 14 (2nd half points) with a running clock early in the 3rd. Pikeville shows heart and scores 2 in the 3rd & 4th periods. Ends game with their heads held high and poised for a long run in the playoffs in the Mountains, probably a Regional champ!

I agree, just amazed at the spread on the poll. I believe the poll is probably accurate but just a little suprised to see it. I applaud Pikeville for taking on such a powerhouse, something has to be said about their character and confidence. That being said Pikeville isn't going into this game for moral victories. They think they can win or they wouldn't have scheduled it. Go Pikeville, make us country boys proud.
