    Open Job: Nelson County

The job was posted on the school's website on December 4th. Head coach David Strunk was winless in his two years as the head coach of the Cardinals.

Hearing a decent amount of alumni interaction with this potential hire. New personnel in alumni association, athletics, and administration. Rumor has it they want young energy and are willing to help people move. What's the word on the street?

Nelson County went from State Champs to being in jeopardy of losing their program in just over 20 years. I hope they find someone who can bring some energy back to the program.

Won't matter much if there's not much administration support. And that's been in short supply in the NC system for about a decade now.

Do they have any idea who they want? What direction does Nelson want to go. Do they want an experienced head coach? Somebody who may be retired but has the tools and the time to rebuild a program. Could they want a younger coach, up and coming, full of energy? Based on the last two hires, they tried each way and both were unsuccessful. I think this will all depend on how many people are interested, if anybody. I see lots of pros and cons of the job but it sure seems the cons hold the most weight.
