IMO....very sloppy game on both sides. LC simply had more big plays in a timely manner.

Both teams played terrible offensively. LC was less terrible. Both teams had a defensive TD (INT return by Rogers for LC; fumble return for Carter for B-Town). LC's first TD was also set up by a fumble return to the B-Town 9 yd. line. The Tigers had at least 6 turnovers, and 9 penalties for over 80 yards. They rushed for less than 20 net yards in the second half. They missed two extra point tries and failed on a conversion try. They had the chance to win it with 3 min. left when they had 3rd and a couple of chain links at the LC 9 yd. line, and the QB fumbled the snap. On 4th down B-Town missed a 20 yard field goal.

I thought Bardstown's defense did a pretty good job, but the secondary is going to have to get tighter on receivers or Warren East is going to be playing tune-up next week. LC's defensive line beat Bardstown's O-Line like a drum, particularly #64 (Bustle) and #77.

The Tigers are going to have to get better QB play. I'll just leave it at that.

Incidentally, this is Bardstown's first regular season loss since 2004.

I am interested in anyone's thoughts on the ridiculous call in the 3rd quarter when Scott had an 80 yard punt return for a TD called back because the ref claimed another player (who was not fielding the ball) signaled "fair catch." If it was a fair catch, why did Bardstown not get penalized afterward for returning it??

    Get better, Bardstown.

^ Yeah, that call was quite weird. Neither team was sharp yesterday. #31 for Lincoln Co., needs to get some more touches he runs hard and delivers a hit. Bardstown needs to rethink their offensive philosophy when they cannot run the ball. Continuing to run the same plays when they are clearly not working does not bode well for success. Bardstown had mismatches on the outside and continually exploited it, but quit running that little fake toss pass, and it really hurt them yesterday.

An honest assessment from a non-biased fan says that both of these teams have a ton of work to do before they will make much noise in the playoffs. Lincoln Co's line is really bad. Bardstown had a NG #53 who got so much penetration he was a constant hassle, and if #53 didn't weigh 160 pounds. Also as fan it was terrible being on Lincoln's side, there were way to many negative fans who turned on their team, some of the things I heard were ridiculous. The really weird thing was that the worst perpetrators were the Moms.

#4 for Bardstown needs to get his head in the game he got so frustrated, he quit trying till late in the 4th, if he is Bardstown's best, then the coaches need to take him aside and let him know how important it is for him to lead that team.

Brummett made tons of plays all night long; I left really impressed with how he's progressed since the last time I saw LC play. Great defense overall by both teams.

Lots of work needed for the Tiger team! The talent is there, we just need to get the right players in the right positions to make the offense work better, recievers need to catch the ball when it hits thier hands, better center QB exchages (what happened? last year it was almost flawless), special teams needs fine-tuning and linebackers need to step it up a notch, O line, get focused, defensive secondary getting beat, not good with Warren East coming up next week. On a positive note...Ben Riley really stepping it up this year, Logan Edelen getting the football either in or at the endzone on kickoffs, Nice punt from QB Smith, good defensive play from Carter, Andy Smith and Jeff Helton.
What's next? Just watch those film- identify problems and work em out, and the coaches need to trust thier team- if they had... (4th and one on the 2 yard line) we'd be talking about a hard fought Tiger victory today instead of the disappointing loss we had. I have faith that they'll all get it together before district play as long as everybody learns something and makes the changes we need now.

The Tigers didn't play their best ball last night. They definitely weren't focused for the second week in a row, but this time they weren't focused and they played a much better ball club than nelson co. The Tigers are definitely going to start getting focused before their games. Also the call to let the kicker who had missed 2 extra points try and kick the game winning field goal was mind boggling. The Tigers are going have to step it up.

The team will be okay... the game has been played, they need to look forward, work hard and focus on each week ahead. Do the work and we'll be okay! Do Work!!!!!

I didn't realize How Over Confident some Lincoln Co. fans are...
Between 1998-2006 Lincoln Co. has a record of 47W-50L.There last winning season before 06 was in 2000. 2001 3-7
    2002 2-8
    2003 2-8
    2004 3-7
    2005 5-5
    2006 8-2...

Don't get me wrong I pull for Lincoln Co. considering just a few years ago I lived in Moreland for 10 years and My son went to Hustonville elem.

Having a great season Last year and beating a good Bardstown team this year is little early for the Patriots to be riding the Big Horse...Just My Opinion...

I dont think any LC fan is riding the BIG HORSE, all the post by LC fans have been pretty low key if you ask me. What post are you talking about that a Lincoln fan had all this over confidence? Coach French has put the program back on track with improvement every year. Over confidence, not at all, but people are excited about Lincoln football again.

Game was in my area, so got a rare chance to see this one. The shocking part to me was the inneffectiveness of Tiger run game. When #4 went out with injury, it was as if noone was at home. #42 looked winded the entire game on both sides of the football and was a non-factor. Bardstown looked out-conditioned.

I agree with the good things that happened in Post #20, but the bad far outweighed the good, and I think that the Tigers have a lot more to worry about than criticism from people on here.
