Who is Tony Franklin, and why would we want to run his "stuff"? We'll run the Billy Goldsmith stuff!!

They did not beat us pretty good, In Fact it took at late TD by their stud RB John Gilliam to beat us in the 4th quarter.

The score might not have shown it but believe me they beat us pretty good I think every one of us felt like we had whent 10 rounds with Mike Tyson after that game . It was one of the toughest games and hardest hitting games I was ever in and if you remember right it started before the first wistle was ever blown . We was doing our warm ups at the end of the field were thier locker rooms was at and they came out and started the mouthing and spiting on us for the get go . Thats something that I will never forget. But time goes on . I'm looking for the dawgs to start getting it turned around this week . GO DAWGS.

Yes it was a "Dawg Fight". That probably was one of the hardest hitting games that Lawrence County had at that time. I for one think that game was the very first step for LC that lay the groundwork for what the program became, alot of young kids saw that game that when they got to high school they were hitting hard every game like that one.
The previous 4 years of LC football no team had a winning record and this team did that with a 6-5 record. At that time Coach Anthony Hatchell had been coach for 2 years and had a 11-11 record. Well he was not rehired for the next season and former superintendent Eddie Michael came in and took over that team and had LC in the playoffs in 3 years for the first time since it was Louisa High. And he did that with a young energetic coach by the name of Billy Goldsmith. And we know what happened next.
Remembering those days get me pumped up still,

Funny what gets remembered after all this time, no ?

My brother played in the trenches for P-burg then and I'll never forget how "motivated" he became during pre-game. One of Lawrence's players accused him of doing atrocious things to our mother and that he was raised out of wedlock (if you read between the lines, you'll know the exact language used).

It's always a fun game when Lawrence and Prestonsburg meet. I'll be there tonight. Glad the weather has held...
