John Elliot named Coach at Ballard Memorial

He was the head coach at South Decatur and Franklin in the early- and mid-1980s, then spent the 2005-07 seasons at Tell City. As a head
coach, his teams have a combined record of 29-44, and he
has been an assistant for several other programs, including
Evansville schools Reitz, Harrison and also spent the last 3 seasons at Henderson County in Kentucky.

Elliott was one of three finalists that interviewed for the Ballard
job earlier this week. Among the others was former Murray State
head coach Mike Mahoney, now an assistant at Beaufort (S.C.),
and former Murray State player Steve Wilson, who is an assistant
at another school in South Carolina.

You turn down a college coach for one with a career record of 29-44. Not sure who that says more about.
