Henlsey Rating System Class 2A Top 10 - Week #5

Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in the three seasons that I have done the Hensley Rating System, I have decided to start doing the ratings for the regular season and not just the playoffs.

I must not take any credit for the numbers that are produced...however, all the credit goes to both the Louisville Courier-Journal's LitRatings and the Lexington Herald-Leader's CantrallRatings. All that I have done is to enter the figures from both papers into an Excel sheet, added them together and divided by two, sort them into order from highest to lowest, and post them.

I will be maintaining the HRS for the remainder of the season so please be sure to post your comments about them and to keep checking back each and every week for updated standings.

The standing for Class 2A are:

    1. Newport Central Catholic 99.35
    2. Bardstown 87.50
    3. Danville 83.65
    4. Owensboro Catholic 82.35
    5. Trigg County 77.55
    6. Green County 77.25
    6. Middlesboro 77.25
    8. Fort Campbell 75.40
    9. Corbin 73.50
    10. Metcalfe County 72.60

I can't argue with the 10 teams who made it, although, I feel Prestonsburg probably deserves some consideration. Corbin, is probably a little low imo and Green Co a little high. Not that Green Co doesn't deserve it, but, at this point, there schedule has been a little suspect. A big win over Glasgow this week would go a long ways in solidifying there ranking. A loss might justify Glasgow in there. I am glad to see Bardstown, despite there record, still rank up there pretty high as there schedule has been a killer and that has to be considered. Same goes for O. Catholic and Ft Campbell. Those are 2 pretty solid teams, who's record could be a bit deceiving due to the competition level...
