    I saw on Twitter Simon Kenton Football's account started a hashtag for #CoachesFromTheirPlayingDays . A couple of others have tweeted about it, so I figured it would be cool to see what folks have here on BGP.

    Here's one that most folks around NKY ought to be familiar with. Former Beechwood head coach Mike Yeagle from his senior year at Beechwood in 1979. Yeagle was a defensive back, quarterback, and team captain.

    That is outside of Charleston near Montgomery. My brother QB'd for Lucas Sr who was the Head Coach at nearby West Virginia Tech in 1982.

    Here's LaRue County head coach Josh Jaggers. He started out on D-Line at Lincoln County in '96 and played his remaining high school career at Danville.

    Before he was a Tiger or a Purple, St. X head coach Kevin Wallace was a Raider at Warren East. Here's Coach Wallace in 1974 when he was center on the freshman team.

    Here's Cov Cath Football's first head football coach, Steve Rasso, during his playing days as a halfback for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. (#37 is his freshman year in 1956; #25 is his senior year in 1959).


    After his time at Cov Cath, Coach Rasso was also head coach for the St. X Bombers for 26 years.

    Newly retired Boyle County coach Chuck Smith has come to be a name synonymous with Kentucky high school football. Here he is as an all-state linebacker at Jeffersontown High School in 1976.
