Q Beechwood has never beat Mayfield but they have only played 5 times

Is Beechwood property of the Mayfield Cardinals because they have failed to modernize that offense? Rash seems like a great guy and coach and I know he only calls the defense but how many times this year did I make note of running will not beat Mayfield. If Rash wants to regain the glory that once was Beechwood I think Bw has got to become less 1 dimensional. For the year Bw ran the ball just over 90% of the time. Look at Mayfield who worked their butts off durning the season to develop a sophmore QB who had no experience. Granted last night the sophmore in him came out due to Bw's defense being the quickest and best we have seen, a credit to Rash but you guys want to get back on track I think you have got to develop a more balanced offense.

Bottom line, you need to be balanced with run and pass espically when one fails to work like last night

Very well put TP. I also stated in an earlier post could Beechwood win IF Mayfield could stop their running game, and I said I don't think so. I also stated, could Mayfiel win if Beechwood stopped either aspect of Mayfields game, and Beechwood did put a clamp on our passing game and the Cardinals won the game on the ground. You are so right on the fact that Beechwood needs to work on becoming more balanced, they need to work on the passing game in some of those blowouts and not have the mind set that ( we din not need to pass so we didn't.) Their defense is awesome, they are just gonna have a harder time winning it all if they stay one dimensional. They did have a little over 100 yards passing but 70 of those came on 1 play.

I totally agree. Coach Rash is always concerned not to run up the score and I admire that. It seems like teams are mostly accused of running up the score when you throw the ball. With that being said, if you are fairly sure your game is going to be a blowout, then work on the passing in the beginning of the game. If you are going to get 400 yards a game rushing you do not need it by halftime. Nobody doubts Beechwood is a strong running team even with the subs in.
