2A #3 Lexington Christian Academy vs. 4A #3 Lexington Catholic ***Upset Alert***

Who wins this battle of Lexington? Both teams come in with high praise on the season. This should be a hot ticket in Lexington this week.

There is an interesting game comparison dynamic playing out with Lexington Christian facing Lexington Catholic and Beechwood facing Covington Catholic.

Here's what I will say, Beau Allen is going to be the best player on the field for sure, but LCA may have the second, third, and fourth best players in Dearious Smith, Xavier Brown, and very underrated DE Andrew Long.

I think going toe to toe, LexCath has a clear advantage in this one, but if Smith and Brown can pop a few plays and Long can make a turnover happen on Defense it drastically can alter the outcome.

I still like LexCath, but don't be 100% shocked if LCA gives them a run for their money.

Private schools are a little more the exception than the rule, but there are no hot tickets in Lexington. The community doesn't really come out for games. Too much else to do. Especially probably this weekend for the Catholic fans with Christ the King Oktoberfest going on.

I have to disagree with you there. Since this rivalry was renewed a few years ago, it's had excellent attendance. It's been one of the bigger attended games in the city between city schools. It's also the Prepspin game of the week.

Maybe you are right, but do you know how you get to be the PrepSpin game of the week? Be two of the schools they have a deal with. Pretty simple. I wouldn't judge the popularity by just that.

That is why I said private schools are more the exception. Go to a public school game and there is hardly anyone there beyond student sections and parents/family. The private schools have a little more of a following.

LCA marched the ball right down the field and got stopped inside the 5.

LCA looks like a real threat in 2A.
