Not that my opinion matters or that anyone cares but I always took it as a sign of respect the times I have seen CCH line up in that manner. They do it respectfully and they remain respectful the whole time.

Regardless of whether CCH does this for intimidation or respect, I think the fist bump down the line by the opponent is a great way to handle it.

If it is respect/sportsmanship, then it would be good sportsmanship by Highlands starting players after their introduction to fist bump all those CCH players just like they do the officials and opposing coach.

If the lineup is CCH trying to impose their presence or get their minds right, then a fist bump and look them in the eye by the Highlands players would be perfect to take away whatever mental edge CCH thinks they are getting by the lineup.

Side note: Sorry @Jack of all Trades for running with the idea. I did not see your post before posting my opinion on this.
There’s nothing to “handle.” CovCath doesn’t stand there to intimidate their opponents. Their name alone is enough to do that for most teams.

Highlands doing what you’re suggesting would make this an issue when it’s not one.

What do you think this would accomplish?

Giving 1 person in NKY the satisfaction that his boys stood up to the disrespectful, intimidating, poor sport Covington Catholic Colonels.

At least you used the proper adjectives to describe them.

I am sure Highlands will get off the bus and give it all they have which may or may not be good enough.

I am sure Highlands administrators will not be whining about what a coach says to the press either.

If it weren't an issue, this thread would not exist. I really see no down side to the Highlands players fist bumping the CCH players. Like someone else posted above, I think it actually would be pretty cool.

The thread exists because one person who dislikes CCH got in their feelings about it, and a mod decided it was worthy of a discussion.

The poll results indicate how much of an issue it is.
