Agreed. Had to, and had no other choice at that point in the game.

You don't often see a tied game at the end of three turn into a blowout, NCC really took it to them in the 4th. I sat in one of the handicap access seats, and just happened to meet Geisler's mother, she was a nervous wreck to say the least. She seemed like a very nice lady but man did I feel for her, and it won't get any easier tomorrow. Enjoy the ride Mrs. Geisler.

That kid needs to spend the summer in the weight room with University of Notre Dame and NewCath alum Mike Kiernan. Put some meat on his bones and he could be a force to reckon with the next couple of years.

Hmm, yet you mention the foul count when Highlands lost in District finals?

Tie game going into Q4 and what did NCC do? They ran isolation plays on offense for Geisler and Hightchew and said go win this one guys ... and they did. Geisler is Player of the Year and that is that. Hightchew is a combination of speed and strength and playing under control rarely seen on the court. Those two are so good they just may get a title for NCC despite Dixie having the better all around team.

On the fouls, come on guys. If you want to talk about fouls how about the two early ones called on Geisler? No, the refs called this one very close all night. If a defender went up and contested a shot, they blew the whistle. Of the 14-5 disparity in Q4, I would say a half dozen or more of those 14 by Ryle came because they were behind and needed to take more chances at steals or just fouled to put NCC on the line. The refs had nothing to do with the outcome of this one. It was two great players, Geisler and Hightchew, making the plays needed to win and their coach doing a good job putting the ball in their hands to let them win it.

Also, I agree about the Schulte kid. Very impressive play out of the freshman tonight. You can put away any pressumed thoughts of the demise of NCC next year without Geisler. Put the Schulte kid out there with Hightchew and Bueter plus the other solid players that NCC always has and NCC will be in the mix again next year.

Any doubt that this wasn't a physical game... check out Highchew's knee in the back of Ryle's #31. His intensity is unmatched.

Yep and Highlands scored in the 4th. Come again. You seemed to have missed the point. If you can't score then you shouldn't complain about foul differentials. Is that better for you?

I agree. Early in the season I was a naysayer on the next few yrs on the hill. However, after seeing Hightchew live and the other kids fill their roles, I feel they will be in the mix next year as well. I would expect next yrs starting 5 to be Beuter, Hightchew, Miller, Schulte and Ryan. They will have very solid Jrs on the bench in Dupont, Siebert, Grosser, and Devoto. Oh and Sr Morse who I forgot will likely play a bunch. Wow

Actually, they are called fouls. The penalty is the consequence for the foul.
