If I'm Bob Rowe (and I'm not) here's who I would hope would express interest:

    Dave Faust
    Ron Dawn

I wonder if Buddy Biggs from Ashland would be interested in that job?

Would Faust want to start over at a place that ran off Listerman even though he's been fairly successful?

Dawn would be the best choice for CCHS if they want a coach familiar with the Catholic school system.

I have a lot of respect for Coach Mike Listerman. It sure was tough losing to his team in the Regional Final of 2004, but if we were going to go down I'd want it to be to his team.

    Great Coach...better man!

Congrats to Coach Listerman on a great career at Covington Catholic.

As to him being "run off", I doubt that was the case. As someone posted above, CCH is a tough place to coach. There will be naysayers and critics in generous amounts every year no matter who is the coach. It is just the nature of these jobs today and it is even more so the nature of it at CCH IMO. When you have a large all boys school drawing players from the entire region, there are going to be talented players who don't even make the team, let alone don't start or get playing time. There will be those players that were top players in middle school or on AAU teams who don't make the team or see the floor. It is just that competitive at a school like CCH. That generates lots of fodder for the peanut gallery. Plus, the expectations at CCH are very high so that generates criticism every time the team loses. It is one of the top jobs in the area and one of the toughest jobs in the area. As a result, any time a coach leaves there it is easy to say he was "run off" because there will be disgruntled fans(?) every year. The fact that Coach Listerman had the success he did and the length of career he did at CCH is a testimony to him as a coach and as a person. Best wishes to Coach Listerman.

Hey, I didn't say it was logical. I just said who I would want as a candidate.

I do not know the answer to your question.

How about former CCH player and Centre star--Matt Nestheide! I know he was an assistant at Centre for a while when he graduated and lives in Northern Kentucky now.

Is he going to teach at CCH?

Best of luck to Coach L. He had a good career at CCH and along with so many other coaches that have remained their for years (Krumpelbeck, Tieman, Ray) whenever any of them decide to leave it will be there decision. Some people may find joy in this but as an alum of CCH I believe too much is going to be made about parent(s) and lack of loyalty to the coaches of CCH. Let this person leave with dignity and realize that over 25 years at one school is truly remarkable.

Since the 70's the basketball team has only had 3 head coaches (Schneider, Tieman, Listerman). We will all support the new coach and look forward to our future successes.

I'm sure that's who CCH would want as well. I really don't see why he would make that move though.
