Governor calling for schools out until April 20th now. So all sports in serious danger.

I'm guessing school is over until fall.

Went through the process to get our state tournament tickets refunded. Have not heard nothing from KHSAA. Wish they would send me an email stating my refund is being processed.

On a personal level it saddens me that the tournament had to be cancelled. Postponed is the term still being used but we all know it’s over for this season. My nephew coaches the Ashland Tomcats and they’ve had a fantastic season, and the entire community was so excited about the upcoming state tournament. That’s a huge downer for the team, coaches and community that they won’t get the chance to possibly make history as the first unbeaten team to win a state title since Brewers in 1948. They were undersized but were such a great passing and shooting team that they were able to play with bigger teams. It would have been very interesting to see what they could have done at Rupp.

I regret that this has happened to all the regional winners. They all had dreams and memories crushed as well.

As for my nephew Jason, he is naturally disappointed but he is the kind of person that will always stay positive and be there for his team when they need him. He’s been that kind of person his entire life.

I’m so looking forward to next season for the Tomcats. With starters Porter, Villers and Sellars returning and several key reserves that saw a lot of action moving up to a starting spot I believe the Tomcats will have a great chance of winning the 16th again.

Perhaps a small consolation, but they'll forever know within this footnote of a season that they did indeed finish it undefeated.
