    Basketball 2011-2012

Yeah I know this season isn't over yet. But lets chat about who is coming back.
For Deming will be rebuilding 2 starters Calvin Schalch and Johnathen Polosky return, Both have had good games, Schalch has good elavation and rotaion on his jumper, Polosky has had 20 pt games just needs to be more consistent, Travis Miller has improved this season primarily as a defensive player. 2 other spots is open, Jacob Curtis is a good candidate to run the floor were Caldwell left off.

Schalch does have good elavation, but one of the ugliest shots in the region, his shots are all knuckleballs with no rotation, if he cleans that up over the summer could see Deming having some close battles with Bracken County, but don't know beyond that.

I'd really like to know who is going to be the "ANNOUNCER" at the Devil Dome? Don't know who the young man is that's graduating, but he did a great job!

Trinity has to be one of the top 3 teams next year along with Scott County.

Trinity returns Charles Foster and James Quick and they add Daryl Hicks.

Scott County returns Isiah Ivey and Tamron Manning.

Both should be excellent next year.

Dixie Heights should be in the top 25 next year along with being the #1 team in the 9th. They are losing only 1 starter and have a pretty good backup in Jordan Hassel filling in.

It's rebuilding. We knew it would be coming, Unless the remaining players decide to turn their game up, it could be a long season. Other upperclassman I see that could get playing time is Daniel Edwards he was injured most of this season, Dawson Cooper(Dad Robbie played for Gary McKinney at Deming) Tyler Burns, Dalton Schalch has had playing time on JV and Varsity.

Montgomery County will have returning starters Omar Prewitt, Jake Handshoe, and Brandon Fruth. Add a healthy Jr. 6'6" Tanner Combs, Soph 5'10" Austin Crisp, Sr. 6'1" Keenan Kelley, Soph. 6'1" Uvea Moala, Fr. 6'4" Chase Hall and possibly 8th grader 6'6" Shelby Combs (Tanner's baby brother). This team has the POTENTIAL to do some damage in the 10th region, but we will have to wait and see what happens.

As of right now, Montgomery would be my pick in the 10th next year.

Don't sleep on Brossart next year in the 10th. They have got a special group coming thru with this years freshmen class. Montgomery County will be the favorite next year but Brossart will be a tough out next year and could follow with a nice couple year run after that.
