Want Newt for President? Raise 30M by Nov

WASHINGTON (AP) Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says he still might run for president if supporters will pledge $30 million by November.
"You can't bring all your good ideas if you don't have the resources to communicate," Gingrich told reporters Thursday at a breakfast in Washington.

Pulled this blurb out that I felt was ironically funny considering Fred was blistered for "waiting too late in the race to get in the race."

that Nov. 13, when Ronald Reagan announced his candidacy in 1979, is a "propitious" date.

That shows how ridiculous Presidential campaigning has become with such early beginnings. Back then it was probably not that late of a date.

Seems if I remember history correctly in '68 the only Democratic hopefuls were President Lyndon Johnson and Eugene McCarthy. When McCarthy made a huge showing in the New Hampshire Primary around January of '68 Bobby Kennedy threw his hat into the ring and Hubert Humphrey followed after Johnson bowed out.

For some strange reason, I thought of Oral Roberts when I saw the title of the thread.
