    Bush Visit To Iraq

Bush makes surprise visit to Iraq

What are your thoughts on this trip and what the people on the ground are telling him and the press today?

I think it is great. It has to be a big morale booster for the troops...

I think its dangerous for the Democrats. Bush goes to Iraq. A terrorist blows him up. Cheney becomes President.

That isn't dangerous for the Democrats, that is dangerous for the country. I think the visit is a good thing and I hope it does inspire the troops. I also hope he sends a strong message to the Iraqi government to get their act together soon. We will be scaling way back by January 09, either because Bush did it or because his Democrat replacement will.

There is a third option to your scenario.

Awesome job by our military, protecting both him and Katie Couric.

I like how it gives the troops a boost. That is always a good thing.

You got to hand it to him, put's himself in danger by going over there in Iraq, knowing terriosts love the chance to kill or kidnap him. Have to give him some credit there.

It's gotta tick off the terrorists that the President of the United States of America is able to come and go as he pleases and they can't do a thing about it, while their leader is crawling around in a cave or a mud hut somewhere afraid to poke his head out too visibly.

    I love it...

Y'all make it sound like a vist that was announced well in advance, and he plopped down in the middle of Baghdad! He had an unannounced visit to the most secure area of Iraq. I figure it's a good thing he went, but I don't think it's any sort of coup on our part that he was able to pull it off.

What did you want them to do? Have him rapel out of a Blackhawk into the middle of Fallujah carrying an M-16?

Look, I don't care one way or another whethe he went or not. BUT, if he does go, I understand the need for secrecy, safety and covert operations. I'm not going to act like he pulled off some major magic trick, though. Put him in a bullet proof vest in a personnel carrier on the road to Baghdad, and if he reaches his destination safely, and returns safely, THEN he pulled off pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

For a guy the Libs suggest has an I.Q somewhere between a precocious three year old and an accelerated turnip, he sounds pretty sharp to me.

Where have we seen Bin Laden or Hussein in the last five years besides a rock heap in the wilderness or pushing up daisies?
