What year is his son at LCA?

He will be a senior.

(I just found out about this tonight.)

Coach Rains will be missed.

So, LCA loses its head FB coach and its AD at the same time a few weeks before school starts? A double whammy for sure.

Ray Graham will take over.

Why else would you leave a head coaching job to be an assistant? To take over as head coach to the team u went to, I would think. With that being said, I hate to see Rains leave but Graham will be a great replacement at LCA.

This is a big shocker to me. Especially the timing of it. Rains has built a powerhouse program at LCA and when he does decide to get back into coaching, I am sure he will have no problem finding a job.

"Family and personal issues" can take a toll on a person. And knowing Coach Rains, if he could not coach with his head in it 100% he was not going to coach at all. He will be back.

Good Luck Paul, it want be long until he is back in Coaching. We are good friends and I wish him the best. Ray is a friend of mine and he will do a great job. LCA is in good Hands.

I am shocked! Coach Vanderhoof resigns from Raceland and now Coach Rains from LCA. Both programs are in good hands, though.

The 2009 LCA roster lists him as a Sophomore so I guess he will be a Junior this fall.
