This is a very good matchup in a game with two good teams. Central is a good team despite their record as they have played a brutal schedule.

Bullitt East (4-0) they are coming off a 53 to 6 blowout win of Bullitt Central.

Central (1-3) is coming off a close 1 point loss to Cincinnati Lasalle 7 to 6.

In what I'm sure has to be a upset I'll take Central here in a close on as at some point there tough schedule has to pay off.

Interesting matchup. Two programs that so far this season are polar opposites when looking at schedule strength. Both teams have good defenses so should be low scoring game. Bullitt East I think has the better offense so will go with Bullitt East winning 10-7.

Louisville Central coaches should speak at clinics yearly on keeping HS kids together, getting better, and making a deep post-season run, despite their desire to schedule SEC teams in weeks 1-5.

I think East will figure out how to get some points on the board. I think the game comes down to how often East can stop Central.  I also think it's low scoring.

BE 17

Central 12

They stopped them every time last year. And that was against a Central offense that had some semblance of a passing threat. This one doesn't. If a healthy Steven Smith was taking the snaps, I might side with the Jackets, but Bullitt East should be able to load the box to slow Stone.

Like everyone else, I'll predict a low scoring game. Give me BEast by 10-14.

That was a different group.  It took a dominant effort from the DL, which 3 of those 4 are gone, and a big play by Bryce Elder running down Cortez Stone right before half.  This one is a litmus test for BE.  I'm not sure how much they've really been tested, especially from their last 3 opponents.  Their best win is Mercer Co., but they are 2-2 with both of their wins being over teams that are a combined 0-8.  Of BE's other 3 wins over BC, NB & PRP, none of those teams have a winning record (4-8) and of their wins, none of them are over a team with a winning record.  Because of that, the jury is still out for me.

It definitely helps that there isn't a healthy Steven Smith, but it appears that Central has learned to hand the ball off to more than just Cortez Stone so you can't key on just him.  Also, I didn't know that he was out in the St. X game, which leads me to understand the wide margin of victory for St. X a little more.  Central's two close losses to Manual & LaSalle are better than any of BE's wins to this point, IMO.  I would think that Central, although not able to throw the ball downfield well, would have some type of a bubble screen or quick out passing game that would help alleviate the pressure when BE does stack the box.  Maybe even some misdirection plays would help.  Last year, they simply ran inside zone or off tackle consistently and only pulled the ball once with the QB.  That was pretty much it.

Central's defense will be stout.  They always are.  I think a big key for me in this game is what will the BE receivers do when they get press man coverage against them because they really haven't seen any of that yet?  Because of that, will BE be able to get things going in the passing game or will they have to rely predominantly on the run game?

This one is a guessing game for me.  I could see it being close either way or even being a blow out either way.  I'm hoping for a BE win, but because Central is at home, I'm leaning that way.  Regardless, win or lose, BE will come out of this a better team and it will do more for them than their first 4 games combined have.

BE holds Central to 3 and out, BE takes over on own 20. After a nice pass, a defensive holding, an unsportsmanlike penalty called on the db who committed the holding.  BE has it 1st down and 10 on Central 14. Central holds tough

thanks to a dropped pass on about the 2 and BE attempts a fg which is wide left. BIG opportunity missed by the Chargers but they seem back in the game.

BE 7

Central 13
