Not much to say about this game. Knox outplayed Somerset and the Jumpers shot themselves in the foot with penalties all night.

Final from Knox Central. The Panthers stop Somerset on a 4th and 4 from the Knox Central 15.  Somerset never could get any momentum going. The Briar Jumpers end up with 11 holding penalties, and over 15 total penalties.  Very poor performance on the road. The old saying that you could call a hold on every play was certainly tested by the officials tonight.

Somerset rushed for 135 had 146 passing then take away 109 yards in penalties.

KC rushed for 111 yards and passed for 75 yards for a 186 total yards.

Yeah, I really hate this.  But it seems like in the 6 class format this is the reality in a lot of the other divisions too.

A lot of talk on social media all week about how Somerset wants to start playing Pulaski and Southwestern again starting next year. They better start worrying about the opponents that are actually on their schedule first.

It’s been a talking piece for awhile, and moving in that direction.  The baseball and basketball teams play both county school teams 4 times a year (sometimes more depending on postseason).  I think the football team playing one a year will generate huge excitement in the community.
