Beechwood 73 Campbell County 55

Recommended Posts

After back to back losses the Beechwood Tigers traveled to Campbell County this afternoon to take on the Camels, and got themselves back on track.

The Tigers jumped out fast with Downton scoring 11 first quarter points, 3 3’d and a flush, and never looked back, while the Camels struggled the entire game to get anything going.

At the end of 1 it was Beechwood up 18-9

At the Half Beechwood 35-21

At the end of 3 Beechwood 53-38

Final Beechwood 73 Campbell County 55

I’ve no final stats but Downton and Draud probably had 20+ apiece, and Boyd for the Tigers also reached double figures.

According to the screenshot of the scorebook I received, Downton had 29 with 7 3pt FG, Draud had 20 and Boyd had 12.

For the Camels, Beiting had 16 and Hegyi 11.

Does Draud catch Hatton and ultimately become the highest scorer in the 9th region? I know he’s got to be coming up close on the record.

Yes. I show him with 2,888 points. He needs 3,045 to tie Hatton. He's on pace to break the record sometime in the first week of March. My prediction is at home vs. Walton on March 6.

Doesn't Hatton have points in his total from 7th/8th grade? Are all of Draud's points high school only?

If my memory serves me right Draud got significant playing time as an 8th grader.

I went back to look and Scotty Draud did play as an 8th grader, scored 204 total points that season, 9 times in double figures with his highest game seeing him net 30 points.

What were Hatton's 7th/8th grader point totals?

High school doesn't matter.  Only varsity and Scotty's are all varsity.  He is on pace for the home game against Walton, but how amazing would it be to happen at Dixie the game before?

This is correct, I believe.  The freshman from Lyon County (Travis Perry) scored something like 1490 points in 7th and 8th grade.  He's on pace to reach 5,000 or thereabouts when all is said and done.

Amazing.  Heard he scored 72 as a 6th grader in an AAU tournament

Without the benefit of seeing the stats for the last 3 games of his 7th grade season, Brandon Hatton's total was 59 points, with one game in double figures at 10.

Without the benefit of seeing the stats for the last 8 games of his 8th grade season, Brandon Hattons's total was 290 points, with 14 games in double figures, a game high of 34, and 5 times in the 20's.

Thanks for the info and clarifying. I was referring to varsity points they scored while they were in the 7th/8th grade and you answered that.

Were all of Hatton's varsity points at Dixie? Did he score varsity points while at Holmes?
