Recommended Posts

I know multiple people now that have tested positive. Of those you know, what have been their symptoms? Treatments?

50-55 year old male with previous heart issues and cancer survivor. Dude should have been locking himself up in a closet every day, but was always in the "this is a hoax" crowd. Lost his taste, felt terrible, and a fever that would come and go for about 10 days. Recovered now though taste is still off.

50-55 year old wife of the above. Felt bad for a few days but bounced back.

24 year old female. Fever, loss of taste, and coughing for a good week. A month later and still having nausea issues.

21 year old female. Loss of taste and felt like something was sitting on her chest. The chest pain went away in 48 hours. Persistent cough.

60 year old male. Felt a little funky one day, but that was it.

19 year old niece--High fever for several days.  No sense of taste or smell for over a week.  Persistent caugh.  Felt really awful for 4-5 days, took two weeks to recover.

24 year old nephew--same symptons, but wasn't hit as hard.  Only a day or two where he felt really bad.

54 year old cousin--was hit hard.  All the common symptons.  Felt pretty bad for a few weeks, spent 6 days in the hospital.  High fever off and on for almost two weeks, no appetite or sense of smell or taste for nearly a month.  Still suffering fatigue and shortness of breath nearly 2 months later.

85 year-old female...all the traditional symptoms.  Her memory was shot, but physically, she was okay prior to getting the virus.  It killed her in about 4 or 5 days.

50 year-old male...all the traditional symptoms plus diarrhea.  The shortness of breath was the symptom he struggled with the most.  He was pretty much back on his feet in two weeks.

I only know of 2 people that have tested positive for it. Both are black males in their mid-30's. One of which is overweight and the other is the most in shape dude I know. Both said that they were around other people who had tested positive but were not showing/ feeling any signs or symptoms.  One of my friends did say that 2 days after being tested that he did have a loss of smell and taste but other than that he wouldn't have known he had anything.

I have a friend in his early 20's who is serving in the Navy who recently tested positive.  Talked to him last night and this is pretty much what he described to me.

Of the 4 people I know who have tested positive for Covid. 2 had no symptoms. 1 had mild flu like symptoms. One is still recovering from loss of taste and cold like symptoms. She is over the cold and her taste is coming back.

50 something coworker.  Extreme fatigue, shortness of breath and chest pain.  Missed 3 months of work.  Even now you can see how tired she gets very quickly at work.

18 year old with cough and congestion.  It wasn't anything bad.

Mid 60's said it was the worst illness he's ever had and doesn't wish it upon anyone.  He goes to a specialist this week as they think it may have impacted his heart.

31 year old female with no previously known underlying conditions spent over a week on a ventilator.

She is at home now, but still on oxygen.

This is strictly anecdotal, but it seems as if the long term impacts are very troublesome. The couple times I've had the flu, I was weak for a week or so but then bounced back.

Maybe a better way to phrase it is "lingering impacts" as we do not know yet what the long term holds.

Our neighbors, a family of four, got it.  Husband had it the worst with flu-like symptoms.  His wife had some symptoms, but was still able to work from home.  Teen daughter had mild symptoms.  Young son has had nothing.

My wife and I were tested a week ago today and both came back negative.  We didn't have any symptoms, but I had been exposed to someone who had tested positive, although that was revealed to be an inaccurate test result.
