Will there be high school football this fall?

Teams will have to tighten the ship even more as it gets close to playoff time. Everyone has to stay in their bubble. Don't hang out with friends. Stick to team and family. If you can't do that for 5 weeks, then your team wasn't disciplined enough to win a title.

The biggest risk is someone testing positive the day of or day before a game. If someone tests positive Saturday through Tuesday, there should be enough time for everyone to get tests and results back to see if you can play the game. If these 15 minute tests become more available, it becomes less likely games will have to be cancelled.

This is just me thinking, but I would imagine the playoffs get shortened in some way.

They haven't mentioned that at all but you have to think its in the back of their minds at the KHSAA. I suspect the first few weeks will be key. If teams get games in without much difficulty, without spikes, etc. then playoffs are probably good. If games are canceled, teams ended, etc. then you could see a move to something smaller (top two teams? district champs only?).

Came across this chart. Looks pretty safe for young people.

This. We need to stop treating a "positive" as the end of world. Kids will get it. Move on

Board Member Chris Brady points out that the that parliamentary procedure may prohibit Dr. Kolb's motion from moving forward on the basis of whether or not agenda for tonight's meeting includes the matter, and thereby allows for that motion to be heard. Clarification is given that the motion can be heard and voted on.

4-3 vote. Sports continue for JCPS.

Wow!  That was really close!

It really will be a miracle if we get through this season with no canceled games from this point forward.

You are going to have cancelled games. Schedules will change & teams will have to quarantine. Going to be unavoidable imo. Like a poster stated earlier, closer to playoff time teams will have to create and trust their kids to create an even tighter bubble.

Let's be honest.  Coaches can preach, beg, advise, whatever. But ultimately, is going to come down to the kids and their parents toeing the line, and keeping themselves away from crowds and gatherings. There really is no "bubble", especially when school starts back in person.
