Could it be Mark LaFon I see he just recently stepped down from Ironton?

I don't think it will( Will be surprised if it is) be Lafon since he is staying on as Ironton's Athletic Director from what I saw.

I have heard 3 names two are not now coaching and one is so I won't mention his name, but the other 2 are Roger Zones and Randy Ward.

Zornes or Even Ward Would be a homerun hire. I found this on Zornes

A three-time All-Area Coach of the Year, Zornes led Boyd County to 447 wins and seven 16th Region championships from 1983-2002. The next three seasons, he directed Ironton to a 66-9 record and trip to the 2005 state finals.

I found this on Randy Ward

The is a snippet from a 2011 article written by Rocky Stanley of ADI in which he said he'd like to coach 4 or 5 more years. He is getting up there in age at 71 or 72. He was 63 when the article was put out.

“I would like to coach back in Kentucky again,” said Ward, who has lived in South Shore the past 30 years. “I’ve been in Ohio going on eight or nine years and miss Kentucky basketball. There’s nothing like the Kentucky state tournament. It’s unique.”

Ward guided Greenup County to four Sweet Sixteen appearances during the 1980s and ’90s. Overall, his Musketeer teams won 388 games in a span of two decades.

Zornes is Late 60's.

Barrick was Wheelersburg's head coach for 19 years before spending the last four at Eastern High School in Pike County, Ohio. He's in the OHSBCA Hall of Fame.

Thanks to Aaron Snyder of ADI for the information.

I’m not real familiar with Barrick’s career except for what I read online. Sounds like a solid hire for Russell. It will be interesting to see how his style will fit into Kentucky.
