Covington Catholic faces backlash after tense exchange with indigenous marchers

Recommended Posts

Also, when a kid does something stupid it doesn’t mean that the school condones it or encourages it.

It’s always hard to judge cell phone cameras. You never know what happened right before or right after.

It’s not really hard to judge a group of white male teenagers chanting and trying to intimidate indigenous people...

I don’t know what could possibly have happened to justify that behavior.

Somebody not being white.

Apparently many people on twitter are now going after CovCath's official sponsors. Saying they shouldn't represent a school like that.

Slippery slope...

And you might be right, but eventually the story will come out and we’ll see. I think the guy playing the drum actually won the stare down battle.

CCH seems to be taking it on the chin in the past few months where it pertains to the press and social media. Deservedly so? Maybe?

Slippery slope...

I agree. I'm just showing how this is starting to become a very bad possible situation for CovCath. USA Today and other national news coverage's have also reported on it. It has been a rough few months now, especially after the Walter's news and now this.

CovCath is a great school. They can do everything right as a school, but doesn't mean kids will make the right choice or act the right way. Same with how parents can do everything right raising a kid, but their kid may still do something wrong.

It makes me remember a thread from a few years ago where I talked about this. I'm trying to find the thread to bring it back up. However, me and someone else had a long debate on this on here. He stated a lot of kids who do bad things or wrong things do it because they came from low income or parents didn't raise them right. I stated from my experience, there is just as many people who I know who did come from great situations, high income and good families who would feel like they raised them right and no chance their kid would do something like this. Yet they end up doing many bad things like stealing, being disrespectful, self entitled, rude, individuals who feel like they can do whatever they want, to whoever they want.

It just shows what school you go to, or where you came from doesn't automatically make you a good person or a bad person. Yet so many people seem to think that. At the end of the day, hopefully they learn from this experience and become better people because of it. I will assume that now they will always remember this, and will think twice before acting or doing anything like this again.

No. They have locked down all their social media accounts. A bad look, IMO.

The reason for that was the fact that minor aged students were mentioned/featured in social media posts unrelated to the National Right To Life March, and students and students/individuals who had nothing to do with the incident in Washington DC were being attacked by people on social media.

An example of what I saw was 25+ comments and threats made to the father of a 1995 Covington Catholic graduate who made a post on one of the school's social media pages almost a month ago.

I think what needs to be remembered here is that these kids are kids. Justification for their behavior, no. But kids do dumb things.

And this is exactly why these fools act this way.

I have to tell you after seeing that I would not send my child Cov Cath. Chaperones were actually there from the report I saw. Bad look for Cov Cath, bad look for Catholic Schools, bad look for for NKY. Thanks Cov Cath.

You are right. But, Chaperones were there taunting as well the report I saw stated. That fact is a devastating blow to Cov Cath. National news.
