Altercation after the 3A State Championship Game involving Central and Corbin

Recommended Posts

This is definitely new light on the subject.. a few questions/thoughts I have after this video clip:

1. Did #10 from Central actually participate in the handshake line? Was this after shaking hands or did he make a choice to bypass the line and come to the Corbin sideline?

2. Regardless of the answer to #1, let's establish noone deserves to get sucker punched that violently for taunting or celebrating, whichever he was doing.

3. It's clear this is the few seconds before the WKYT video where we see the Corbin kid on top of #10. What I still also want to see a video of is what happens to the other Corbin player in the WKYT video who gets knocked to the ground and kicked and stomped. Did he instigate or was he blindsided? The video would suggets he was blindsided, but the reports I have heard is he may have instigated that contact as well.

4. On that note, should that ever warrant being stomped or kicked while on the ground?

Keep trying to turn this on Central... It's amusing to watch.

This can't surprise anyone, can it?

Here's a question I have...Why did WKYT decide to start the video where they did as opposed to the beginning?

If you think I am trying to turn this on Central you are sorely mistaken.

I am simply wanting all the facts to be on the table so when we discuss this we all know the full picture. Those questions I have are the only missing pieces to the story in my mind.

That's a good question

I also have to take WKYT to task for suggesting "Charges being filed"as their first reaction. To me that was very sensational and unwarranted as a reaction, especially when they did not even show the entire picture of what occurred.

I have a full one minute video that shows what clearly happened.

1. He went through the line on the opposite side of the team. It is undetermined if he shook hands but he went through the line and there were other players who went through the same line he did. When he ended the line he raised his hands in celebration and said something while facing the Corbin crowd and turned to begin to walk back to the Central sideline. It was then when the Corbin player violently attacked him while he wasn’t looking.

2. Agreed. Dude needed to let it go. Instead he chose to get violent.

3. The Corbin player who was getting stomped instigated his contact as well. After #10 from Central got up and was escorted away from the fracas someone from Corbin comes running into the crowd of Central players and then attacks another Central player. After he attacked the Central player the Central players retaliated.

4. Also on this video that I have two Corbin teammates got into a fight with each other.

No matter how hard folks try it’s clear there way are more issues at Corbin than at Central.

I still havent seen the full video you are referencing, but everything I have heard seems to point to exactly what you are saying.

The picture I am getting is one side was definitely the primary antagonist in why this went South, but the reactions of the other side were not exemplary in the least.

Even in the game update thread, someone tried to say Central has discipline issues. They absolutely don't, and haven't for as long as I can remember. This was a calculated plan by Corbin to try to take Central out of their game. It backfired, they lost, and they showed their rear ends.

What kills me is that watching this video not only it is clear that the kid from Corbin started the physical fight but people still tried to say that Central was just as much at fault as Corbin. Watching that video with sound it was clear that there were hundreds who saw that sucker punch. They knew the truth.

I agree 100%. I am speechless as to what I just watched and it totally changes my view on this from the other video I saw last week.

I'm sure you weren't trying to be funny or coy, but that capital "S" in south is ironic in this thread (and the obvious undertones contained within).

HAHA.. there was no ill will intended with that except for improper grammar when capitalizing anything that points in specific geographical direction... but definitely funny in a context I was not thinking of.

1. Corbin kid started the fight, but it's not surprising that he did. He may have been told to stay on the sideline considering his temper problems in the past. It's just unfortunate that the Central player happened to come to the Corbin sideline, but no excuse for the Corbin kid's actions and he was the clear instigator in most people's opinion. He's not a bad kid and is a really good student, but may need some anger management classes.

3. He came flying end and appeared to try and punch someone, believe he may have been blindsided after that. He paid the price as he did take some stomps and kicks after getting knocked down.

4. A Corbin teammate pulled him away from the Central players and they wrestled around on the ground with each other because one thought the other was acting like a punk. These two are actually the best of friends.

I see 6 kids who should get suspensions from everything that I have seen, although I may not have seen it all either.

There was no calculated plan to take Central out of their game? Where did that come from?

There were a couple of Redhound players who showed their rear ends, but Central had some as well.

I have watched Corbin and Central play each other 4 or 5 times and have never seen any more discipline problems out of them than any other team, probably less than average. Now on the other hand, Corbin has been a little too undisciplined at times over the last couple of years compared to most of their recent past teams.
