From a mountain bruiser to a Power 5 blue chipper, 5A is blessed with several stud RBs toting the rock this year...

Casey McGinness, Covington Catholic - 430 yards rushing (11.3 ypc) and 7 TDs ; 4 catches for 76 yards and a TD - Imagine what his numbers would look like if he got the chance to play full games.

Mariano McKenzie, Apollo - 576 yards rushing (8.8 ypc) and 7 TDs - He's gone for at least 170 yards in each game so far, with a season high of 227 against Evansville Mater Dei.

Jayden Neace, Perry County Central - 870 yards rushing (13 ypc) and 14 TDs - Neace's 443 yards versus Breathitt County alone would be good enough to rank him 2nd in the class for season yards.

Imonte Owsley, Owensboro - 323 yards rushing (12 ypc) and 4 TDs ; 18 catches for 300 yards and 4 TDs - Owsley is the only player in the state averaging 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving per game.

Vito Tisdale, Bowling Green - 360 yards rushing (5.9 ypc) and 3 TDs ; 12 catches for 186 yards and 2 TDs - Vito's faced the stiffest opposition of the guys listed here, and he's still been the best player on the field in each game

Who's been the top RB so far this season? One of the guys listed above, or someone else?

If I'm not mistaking Neace is leading the state in rushing yards, in all classes going into this week.

Vito Tisdale from Bowling Green. By far has played the toughest 3 opponents. Should get to play all game this Friday night but after this weekend, he will be used very seldom the next 3 weeks or so. Other RB may have more stats but anyone that is in the know should realize this is a no-brainer. Anyone that has his offers (as a Junior) will always be the superior athlete on the field

Vito Tisdale is the best player in this group by far, but as far as stats so far this season I’d say Owsley and Neace have had very impressive seasons so far.

If McGuiness played full games his stats would be on top. I know his speed is a bit behind some others but his patience and field vision is top notch. Plus his hard running is top notch.
