BGA really impressive tonight. They jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first five minutes while FS went 3 and out twice. After that, FS moved the ball really well the rest of the night, but they came up empty on 2 red zone trips. Score was 28-12 until about the end of the 3rd, then BGA pulled away in the 4th, including a 93-yard TD bomb. BGA had an excellent QB, could throw well in the pocket or on the run. Number 3 for BGA, I think his name was Cleveland, was a great athlete who made some incredible moves with the ball in his hands. Their QB and Cleveland struck me as D-1 quality players. On the excuse side for FS (LOL) they were without their best running back who had sprained his ankle this afternoon. Could have used his speed tonight. Don't think we would have won the game anyway, but it probably would have been closer. FS line played really well, especially on runs up the middle. Penalties were again a problem that will need to be addressed. Some great play by several freshmen and sophomores for FS. FS will not face a better team than BGA unless they go deep in the playoffs.

When does district play start?

 

FS has Russellville this week, not a district game but our longest-standing rivalry now. Panthers have beaten FS two years straight, can't remember the last time that happened. Should be a good game. District play starts next week at Warren East, should really be the district championship game as AC-Scottsville and Breckenridge round out the district. No one wants to lose a game, but sometimes it can help you re-focus.
