Knights Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Good offensive performance for the Knights, Ryan went 22-27 418 yards 5 TDs and 0 interceptions. Jaylen Jones had well over a big performance again rushing for well over 100 yards and 2 TDs. Knights had 576 yards of total offense according to the radio. Defensively, however, was atrocious. Almost squandered a 20 point lead. Knights have to get healthy by Boyle County.
Jack Lambert Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Wow I expected a running clock in this one.
Bluegrasscard Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Chase Boling and Cody Mitchell did not play. These seniors make the Knight defense better when they are in the action. But there is still work to be done. Shoulder tackling, bad angles, bad situational calls, lack of adjustment or adjustment to the adjustments. Its difficult to see the sliver-lining on defense with so many things off kilter. It has to get better. Offensively, things are definitely getting better. Better protection by O-line, better receiving, strong running by Jones. Donovan Morris made a couple (at least) of good catches in traffic. Andy Thompson continues his play making with long runs after receptions. People (and colleges) should really take notice of Jaylen Jones. He had another more than solid running game. As noted above Ryan was back on track with a super game. If the receiving corp keeps improving and the chemistry comes together with Ryan then the Knights should be fine on the offense.
