I can understand why folks would not want to schedule varsity games with t and x, but jv? Most programs could have some of their varsity play down and still get valuable reps. Does playing jv games against public school programs have value for t and x? If so, then I see no problem scheduling jv games with t and x (except maybe the travel). CoachJ
Just an FYI--we (Ballard) tried to schedule VARSITY/JV/FROSH contests with Trinity for 2013/14 (had the conversation with them myself). They told me their schedule would be full due to playing teams out of state. We are playing X in Week 0 for varsity next year and will play them in JV/Frosh in a later week in the schedule. In addition, we will play Male and Manual. Our hope was to play that entire district. Things aren't always as they would seem to those outside the process. I'm sure we're not the only public school outside their district in Kentucky that desires to play the best and see where they stand.

Forgive me if this is a little off topic, but SK scrimmaged X last year and this year. It was our first scrimmage, I don't know if it was X's first or not. X's execution was in mid season form. Since everybody has to wait until 8/1 to get into pads, what are they doing that we are not?
stinkyboy II
And props to the Bulldogs for being 1 of only 2 KY public schools that stepped up and scheduled the JV Rocks. There were 3 KY public school teams that scheduled the JV Rocks. Highlands game was scheduled for August 25th and cancelled.

Kudos to you and your School / TEam for attempting to play these games. You have been on record in the past - of having stated exactly that - about your intention to schedule and play games vs. T & X. Many have wondered why and how that did not come about. Thanks for the explanation. Still do not get why other schools would avoid the JV/Frosh Level ???

What is your total coaching staff headcount, both paid and volunteer for all levels 9 - 12? I'm just wondering if its coach/player ratio that gets your kids ready so much quicker. Not that involved in jv and freshman anymore but in my playing days we had about 7-8 on freshman and jv i think.

So based on what you are saying, we must have 10 scheduled for 2013 and 2014. Thanks for the info.
RockPride
^ Not at all what he's saying. We have been scheduling independently, from varsity, for quite some time, regarding JV.
fatsnbul
Trinity should stick to playing out of state teams in the non-district schedule. keep building a national program.
