Voice of Reason
Game report: On the game's first drive, Beechwood went 60 yards in 3 plays with Mitch Thomas scoring from 7 yards out less than 1 minute into the game. Sletto XP good. 7-0 Beechwood. Bellevue went 3 and out. Beechwood scored on the first play on a 62 yard TD run by Thomas. 14-0 with 8:19 to go in the first quarter. Bellevue got a couple first downs before punting. Beechwood's drive carried into the 2nd quarter when QB Cameron Lane threw a 17 yard scoring pass to Chris Lightner. XP good. 21-0 with 11:18 left in the half. Bellevue picked up a first down before punting. Beechwood's next drive stalled near the end zone so they took the 25 yard field goal by Mile Sletto ... 24-0 BW with 5:38 to go. Bellevue again picked up a first down before punting. Beechwood drove down field again with Max Nussbaum scoring on a 35 yard run at the 1:35 mark ... BW 31-0. It looked like Bellevue would run out the half but Dylan Huff found a seem in the Beechwood defense and went 78 yards for a score with just 2.7 seconds left. The 2 point try was no good so it was 31-6 at halftime. The 3rd quarter was rather uneventful. Bellevue had one first down in the quarter in three possessions and fumbled on their 3rd possession. Beechwood had one scoring drive with Lane throwing a 10 yard pass to Devon Everrett with 6:15 to go in the quarter, XP no good, 37-6. The 4th quarter opened with Beechwood finishing a drive on a 12 yard TD run by Nussbaum, XP no good, 43-6 with 9:38 to go. Beechwood started working some subs into the mix from there. Bellevue QB Tyler Ackerson hit Cody Corman with a TD pass from 23 yards out on a very nice catch by Corman. Huff ran the 2 point try in and it was 43-14 with 7:19 left. The Beechwood second team scored when Joe Studer went 57 yards, XP no good, 49-14 with 6:23 left. Bellevue finished the scoring when Huff ran it in from 6 yards out. Final score Beechwood 49-20. Hellbird
Congrats to the Tigers. I keep telling folks this team is taking shape just fine. So true. It's a good thing the injury bug hit them early rather than later. They are a much different team with Nussbaum playing. Defenses can't key on just 1 or 2 players anymore. Also I'm jealous of Beechwoods field house etc. they didn't have anything close to that back when I went there lol.
Pile Driver
You can't judge class A schools by their records. When Beechwood is playing and beating class 6A schools, you know know they will make their annual run.
Clyde
I read in the paper that the last time Bellevue won against BW was 2005. I think I was at that game. Was it at Bellevue when they had that really fast running back/trackster?
emperorhasnoclothes
I think the player was Lincoln Adams.

Bellevue had an extremely great team that year.
emperorhasnoclothes
Correct. I was at that game. Just unreal atmosphere at Gilligan that night. Bellevue had an extremely great team that year. It was a hostile crowd at Bellevue that night. That extremely great Bellevue team lost to NCC 45-7 in the playoffs.
Qryche11
It was a hostile crowd at Bellevue that night. That extremely great Bellevue team lost to NCC 45-7 in the playoffs. What is your point? How does NCC have anything to do with this thread? :ohbrother: But since you are off subject, didn't NCC lose to Beechwood that year 24-21? I also believe CovCath waxed them 42-0. But I digress.... If you have such a great memory of that year Qryche, you'd also remember NCC was state champs, beating Mayfield 42-7, and Beechwood was sitting at home after losing to Lexington Christian 43-20. MHSCardinal
Let's face it, Bellevue, Ludlow and Dayton aren't much competition this year and for that matter, most years. Occassionally, Bellevue will have a decent team, this just isn't one of those years. It's pretty easy to say they're peaking at the right time of the year when, in fact, the competition level just goes down 2-3 notches, so, who really knows.
