If that is the cause of death then these should be looked at closely since that would match #1 in my other post.

    Saturday 3/21 numbers.

These come from the worldmeter website and use the "Yesterday' tab that should show a full day view. The default view is somewhat 'real time' and updates throughout the day. The reason I capture these is that there is only a 'Yesterday' and not a running daily that would be more useful.

Certainly NY is where the news is. Cases continue to ramp up aggressively there. NY and NJ contributed basically half of the new total cases.

Current US death rate using reported cases is about 1.2%. Actual death rate is almost certainly lower because the reported cases are lower than the actual total, but we are still early in this.

As of this morning, I now know someone personally who has been diagnosed. Not someone I am close to but my degree of separation is far less now than it was.

How did you find out? What have you done since finding out? Tracing potential connections that happened in the last two weeks?

More and more of us a likely to get the same type of news in the next couple weeks. Your experience could be helpful.

He posted on Facebook this morning that he has been in the hospital since Thursday and he has tested positive. Dealing with pneumonia too.

I couldnt tell you the the last time I saw him (many years). I am closer to his brother and it's been quite some time I've seen him or been in his circle either (many months).

So I would be more concerned with contracting it from a grocery or beer run than from him having it. I just wondered how long until someone I actually knew had it. Well today is that day.

I am including this info from another thread here also.

The worst case scenario is happening in New York, worse even than Italy. Today as of now they have 12,345 new cases. That is 90% of the new cases in the US. That is a doubling of cases and a nightmarish number. New York by itself has more total reported cases than all but 5 countries.

    Big correction!

Looks like there was a glitch in the numbers on worldometers.info site. New York number of new cases is now showing there at 5,429. Still a big number but much better than the number above that was on there earlier today.

For me personally there is no reason to look at the number of cases right now. There is zero reason imo to freak out when the number of cases goes up. At the end of the day it is here, and probably been here for a couple of months. Meaning a crap ton more people have it or had it already that we didnít even know about. So the more test that come available, it obviously is going to make the numbers go up. So until test are readily available everywhere, it is almost pointless to look at how many new cases, because it really isnít telling us much at all.

Currently the countries that had test readily available right away and was testing right away. The number of confirmed cases, to numbers of deaths is rather low. Just like here are percentage of deaths compared to how many confirmed cases, is probably higher than what the actual percent is for deaths compared to the true number of people here who have had it.

So for me biggest thing is to do what we have been told to. Practice social distancing, stay at home if we can, because we donít want to overrun the health system. So the biggest thing I look for when watching the news is not new numbers in cases, because that doesnít tell us much until test are readily available everywhere.. Iím just looking to if they are getting closer to treating it. Which could be awhile.

Starts tomorrow at 11:59pm, so essentially Tuesday. It's a somewhat relaxed order but it will certainly help. We have been told that we can still cross over into Ohio for work.
