What has Weis done that Willingham didn't?

Weis has done basically the same things Willingham did at Notre Dame but Willingham lasted for what? 3 years? Weis just recieved an extension correct???

Willingham took the Irish to 2 bowl games in 3 years (although he lost both).

Weis has taken the Irish to 2 bowl games his first 2 seasons (although he lost both) & has started this season off on the wrong foot.

I don't see them bowl eligble. For the first time, probaly ever, Kentucky has a lot better chance to be bowl eligible than Notre Dame

You guys can make all the 1 word comments you want but the fact is Weis has done nothing any more noteworthy than Willingham did.

I don't see them beating Boston College( BC beat Wake Forest 38-28) and I don't know about Purdue either.

What did his recruits have do with the last two seasons. Jimmy and Co. weren't even on campus. Are you really going to judge those recruits who are at most 1 game into their Sophmore campaign?

As far as your initial post, Ty went to 2 bowl games. Charlies (deservedly or not) went to 2 BCS bowl games. Considering Notre Dame does not have to split that money, Weis has more than paid for himself over the last two seasons. Isn't that the whole point of major college football? Why else do we still crown a champ using the silly bowl system instead of a legitimate playoff?

2BC$ bowls and 2 more wins in the same time period. That and us Irish fans are becoming more used to mediocrity for the sake of NBC and BCS $.

Are you serious? You lose a little credibility with that statement.First those two bowl loses were BCS losses. Also His first two recruiting classes have NOTHING to do with those bowl losses. Most freshman get redshirted, so his first year he would have had no recruits of his playing for him really. Then last year he would have had redshirt freshman with no game experience with alot of seniors in front of them, so they still was not playing. Now this year yeah he has some recruits playing, but none with any experience since last years team was so senior heavy last year on both offense and defense. They lost pretty much the whole offense and defense from last year. So the guys playing this year have no experience, and yeah are going to struggle especially early in the season. However you will see the team start to get better as the year goes on and these guys get more experience. Weis has brought in 2 top 5 recruiting classes so far in his tenure at Notre Dame, so he is getting the job done recruiting. Next year will be the year that he has to start showing stuff since it will be a team mostly of ALL his recruits...
