    UK Football Stadium Improvements

    http://www.kentucky.com/2011/04/22/1...nd-system.html

Spending 6.25 Million on new scoreboard and sound system. Did anyone go to a game in the past couple years and say they needed either one of these things? I have been to more games then not during my lifetime and I have no idea why they would choose to improve this.

I'm all for UK spending money on football. But why on this? The systems they have are fine and they only use them 7 times a year.

Did they already install them? I went to a spring practice and I didn't notice anything different?

The boards they have now are 12 years old and apparently from what I've read are pretty outdated. Plus they are very small.

I'm sure they are. Same with my HD TV I bought 3 years ago. But it still gets the job done. I'm just not sure this large buy is needed given the current state of the University.

NO.....it has to get approved by the board first. I have no problems with it. It will allow for more statistics to be shown, plus more ability to sell advertising. Seems like a high expense, but it will pay for itself in less than five years. Seems like a good idea to me.

All good points. Per the article I read, the current board is so old that finding replacement parts is a chore. Sounds like they will be able to use the extra advertising dough to help offset the cost.

I think they should put all that money towards buying better seats. They should put blue and white seats like the kind in Papa Johns field they are more comfortable than the regular bleachers.

Can't do that....it would cut into the capacity a ton....seats take up a lot of "seats", if you would.

You ever been to Notre Dame stadium? It would cut ND seating capacity to around 10,000.....J/k

I have a feeling this season they would enjoy having less empty seats.

A good SEC football team other than the opponet would be a big improvement.
