    The Gold Sheet picks UK...

KENTUCKY 42, Louisville 41 - In what figures to be an offensive shootout between these two heated rivals, take any available points with confident Kentucky, primed to snap 4-game series losing streak. Wildcats marvelous, mistake-free QB Woodson (no ints. last 206 attempts!) and a more potent ground assault (554 YR so far, only 22 YR vs. L'ville LY) will do lots of business vs. reeling Cards defense that permitted a whopping 555 yds. in 58-42 win vs. Middle Tennessee St. And while Cards prolific QB Brohm will do his thing, L'ville a little undisciplined on both sides of the ball (19 penalties so far!) under new HC Kragthorpe.

All these upset predictions are starting to worry me.

If everybody picks the upset, is it really an upset?

Trust me, when everyone is picking an upset to occur it never happens.

Since when is everyone predicting an upset? This game could go either way, simple as that...

    You're right.

The game hasn't started. Nobody is winning.

It certainly seems that way...it's like a reverse effect. The favored team basically gets put into the underdog role because everyone is picking against them...they get extra motivation and play with a chip on their shoulder (like an underdog) and take care of business.

I don't put much stock in these picks. I don't think it's a real stretch for someone to pick UK based on what's happened this year. Louisville certainly hasn't played defense as everyone had hoped, but Kentucky, IMO, hasn't looked as good as I had hoped. Kent State ran all over them, and the 56-20 final score was a bit misleading as to how the game actually played out. UK will have to play better than their first two games if they want to beat Louisville.

This is a rivalry game though...I think once the ball is kicked off you can throw any picks and bulletin board material out the window. These two teams will be extremely motivated for this game regardless of what happens before...I just don't think Kentucky will be quite good enough. UK's chances are better than I would have given them to open the season, but I haven't seen enough from them to expect a win, in spite of U of L's defense. I don't think they can stop Brohm and Co...and I think the Cardinal defense will play better and make enough stops to get a W.

It should be high scoring, but I don't think UK can keep pace.

The only part of the article I didn't like was bringing up Woodsons non interception streak, because its almost for certain now that Woodson will throw a interception early in the game...

It very well could happen...but The Gold Sheet will have nothing to do with it...
People, even professional gamblers, think that just because someone says something it will cause something to happen...

Be real people, nothing all the pundits, the so-called gurus, the chat room banter, and on and on, will not have one iota of a fraction of 1% to do with anything that happens on the field...

The reality of this game is either team can win...

I know, but you have to admit it happens all the time in sports, when someone mentions any kind of streak or anything going on. It already seems like that streak ends right after that comment is said...
