What has happened down there...Seems like another terrible season.

They let Ron Finley go. That was mistake #1 in my opinion.

Agreed. I think there is and has been a little turmoil with the coaching staffs since Finley left. Maybe a case of too many chefs ruin the stew type of deal.

I know one thing for sure. Campbellsville has a ton of former players who are coaches, including head coaches, in high schools around this state. Reflects very well on that program, at least as it was.

Campbellsville Football has lost it's identity. The Fightin' Tigers used to be just that, fightin'. They have gotten away from the blue collar, smack you in the mouth type of football that they played when they won championships. Nowadays it seems all they are worried about is building the fanciest buildings and having the highest tuition in America. Great goals to have if you ask me. Ask any old school Tiger and they will tell you the same thing. C-ville needs to get back to the basics. Recruit tough, hard-nosed young men and turn them into a family. One that would sacrifice anything for another member. That's what Finley did and that is why they were successful.

On a personal note. Its good to see that Gus found enough time between hony-tonking and gambling to make an appearance.

Well Captn' I do what I can!

The question is...how much longer are they gonna give Deaton. They basically ran Peach off and all he did was go 8-2 and 6-5. I heard talk of rebuilding after Peach...I never realized you had to rebuild after 2 winning seasons. Also, whats the most wins JD has had in a season...2? 3?

They didn't let him go. He resigned because it was found out he had given one of his players a significant amount of money. The player had a real need and Coach Finley tried to help him out, but in doing so he broke NAIA rules and thus put the program in jeapordy. He resigned. I don't think anyone involved really wanted to see him go.
