Tie game, WVU gets a rebound and has the full court to go with a second left. Knowles steps in front and gets called for the block with 0.6 on the clock.

Tie game with 8 seconds to go he comes down and shoots about a 30 footer with 3 seconds to go and then tries to chase down the rebound and commits a foul with .6 to go.......

It kind of looked like he was trying to chest bump him. WVA melted down in their earlier loss at Yum, so I guess things equal out.
Speaking of bad calls, however, didn't UL get hosed last year on a terribly bad call that paved the the way for a WVA win?

Mark "Bo" Pelini was born 6 weeks premature. He designed a blitz to help him escape from his mother's uterus early.

If there was only a second left why even get in the way? Let them throw up the 3/4 court shot and go to OT.

Good season Cards; I'm not going to bash Knowles over the foul at the end of the game. It was a bad foul, but lets face it, without him the team would likely not be in the position that they are now.

Looking back on the whole season and considering all that's happened between Samuels entering the draft, Swopshire being out for the whole season, Buckles being out the time he has, and some younger players playing much more than anticipated earlier on, I'm very happy with how everything has turned out. I didn't expect to finish in 3rd place and anticipate being even better next season.

I am more upset with Knowles and the bad shot before the foul. Should have kept driving for a better shot.

No way in heck you can swallow your whistle on that one.

Clyde, I posted in the other thread as an ex ref I'd let them play the last play out and go to OT. Siva as a point guard needs to hit the free shots.

Agreed. Call a foul when there's a foul. On that play, there was clearly a foul.

Fouls are subjective so some contact in that situation might not draw a whistle.

The contact on this play was just too much to pass on.

I agree a foul in the first minute should be a foul in the 40th minute. However, it is not consistently called that way. Inconsistent unwritten rules have taken over, e.g., the NBA no-walk rule, the MLB top limit of the strike zone being just above the belt rather than at the letters, etc. Call it one way or call it the other----just be consistent all game and all season long.

After seing the photo it was a harder foul than I first thought. The ref is right there and this was a good call and I was wrong, but you can blow the whistle every time down the court in a lot of games, that play had no bearing on the game except to hand the mountain folks a win.

Someone should really try to change their mind. I have heard that it can help a team.:

You can't hang that one on the refs regardless. It was bad both ways, and UL just flat out blew it at the end. Period.

I was traveling with my son and listening on the radio and this is all I kept telling my son after the game. If Siva hits both of his free throws then UL is up 4 and it is a 2 possession game. I am with you Alabama Larry.
