Suns Shining Bright Today in Kentucky

Looking at the severe weather thread in General Discussion made me realize how nice of a day it is all across the state and with good reason. What those guys done this year showed nothing but heart and it makes me proud to have guys like that represent Kentucky. Just go down fighting and gunning til the last buzzer sounded. Went hard during the tournament and beat two of the best teams in the country getting to the Final Four. Barely gutted out a game against Princeton, a game in which Princeton controlled and dictated the pace. Ran the clock dry and still hit shots at a high percentage. Then go to being down 8 at the half against WVU and coming out in the second half and throttling them. Big time wins against Ohio State and North Carolina. Those guys just all really stepped up and balled out for about the last month of the season. This team without Enes wasn't supposed to do anything, not even realistically make it past Sweet 16. Somehow though this team ended up as the Vegas odds favorites to win the whole thing. Just because they didn't play as good as the did last weekend last night against UCONN doesn't give anyone a reason to not be proud of what they have done this season. Sure it was nice getting so close to getting an unexpected 8th banner, but this wasn't the team that was supposed to do it. Just because they didn't go all the way doesn't mean that you should be any less proud of what they done. I know a lot of people are a little disappointed today but I hope everyone out there is as proud of this team as I am. Like I said just look outside, the suns shining bright in Kentucky today.

I couldn't agree more , I am very proud of theses young men . They actually pulled together as a TEAM the last 4-5 weeks and they didn't win because of lack of hustle or heart . I truly enjoyed this season as a fan and I will really miss JORTS next year ,you have to admire this young man .

An excellent season. An even better coaching job. As a UK hater....they earned my respect.

I agree, two great game plans by Cal against OSU and UNC. I guess you could say 2 1/2 counting the second half of the West Virginia game.

Told myself I would not be disappointed in this team past the OSU game and I am not, those guys went out and played their hearts out. I've never been more proud of a Kentucky team

Although those what-ifs do start to creep in a little bit. What if they had Enes, what if Liggins hadn't of took that last shot, what if they would have shot the ball better against UCONN, etc. But at the end of the day, very, very proud of this team, what a ride this season was.
