Good hire. He'll make Arky tough in the SEC.

Am I the only one who thinks Arkansas isn't exactly a step up from Missouri?

Anderson is a Nolan Richardson disciple & long-time Arkansas assistant. It makes too much sense...

I agree with you. He spent 17 years there. I think he'll do a good job at Arkansas. Now onto who replaces him at Missouri.

So Much for this earlier statement in another thread ,It just shows how unpredictable Coaches really are .

(BELOW IS THE STATEMENT I WAS TALKING ABOUT )

Also, espn is reporting that Mike Anderson, believed to be the favorite for the Arkansas job, will be staying at Missouri with a pay increase. Does that mean Mick Cronin is the their top target now?

Yea I believe they said he'd been an assistant of his for like 17 years at Arkansas or something like that.

Anderson played for Richardson at Tulsa, then coached with him for well over a decade.

Good hire. I remember Anderson from Richardson's staff in the 90's. He was always Jerome to Nolan's Maurice Day........Nate Dogg to Nolan's Warren G.

Don't they have a pretty good recruiting class coming in? Arky could be nasty in the upcoming years. He can get some better athletes now that he's in the south.

No, I am with you. I keep trying to figure out why this move. There just have to be some intangibles that we aren't aware of. Like you, I see little difference in the two programs. Anderson has been in the tourney the last three years and went to an Elite 8 so it isn't like he couldn't have success there. Plus, Missouri should have a really good team next year. A lot of talent on that roster. I guess that 17 year stint at Arkansas with Richardson made Ark. seem like home. That and some other behind the scenes factors must have driven this decision.

I always hate going up against the "40 Minutes of Hell". Just annoying to prepare for. Speaking of which, the '94 Finals were on Classic last night between Duke/Arkansas.
