Why the lack of support? Was it this way when Keady was at Purdue?

Keady was like 4 generations ago, so none of that really matters.

Purdue doesn't want to get caught up in the salary and budget explosion, and have stuck to their guns so far. The interesting things is if they do cave it will be in large part because Martin took the UT job before this played out and gave them a clean and easy backup plan...

I was surprised to hear he's the 8th highest paid coach in the B10.

An Indy Star writer said that PU “clearly demonstrated our commitment to him and our men’s basketball program” last night.

Happy for Painter, did what he had to do, gets to stay home and now hes getting paid. Hopefully this got the message across to all those involved at Purdue, although not an elite I doubt they would have been able to bring anybody else in that would have had as much success as Painter in the next five years. With Butler making two straight Final Fours, they definitely couldn't afford to take a step backwards. Although they haven't made a serious run Painter continues to keep a nice team on the floor and a good program going, if Hummel could have stayed healthy the sky was the limit for this team.

Based on your previous posts on the UC situation, I hope Mick takes the call and listens. That might not be a bad gig for him. Not the pressure of the Big East with Huggs and Pitino, and now Calhoun a little jilted at Mick.

I am sure he would prefer to stay in his hometown, but maybe he can negotiate his way to other items he wants through this opportunity.

He'll take the call. Not a doubt in my mind about that.

For the record Calhoun called Mick and apologized for the misunderstanding...

What are Missouri's thoughts if Cronin doesn't pan out? Would they cast their net toward any other BCS conference programs? Would they look lower, perhaps Wichita State's coach or someone of a similar stature?

Meaning, yes were paying him more money and letting him have lower standards than all the other schleps who come here.

The Wichita State coach is on the list along with Mark Fox from what I have heard...

Missouri must be feeling pretty used right now.

Painter now gets to take a shower in West Lafayette to clean off all of the slime he accumulated during this process.
