    Making sense of NCAA rulings

    I think we make two big mistakes with regard to interpreting the NCAA and its disciplinary actions/inaction:

    1. That the NCAA operates like a courtroom -- i.e., that decisions are always consistent and rely on previous precedent

    2. That the NCAA doesn't operate like a courtroom -- specifically with regard to distinguishing between "innocent" and "not guilty."
