The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Kentucky guard Joe Crawford underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee but should be ready when practice begins next month, the school announced Thursday.

Crawford, a senior, averaged 14 points for the Wildcats last season. He underwent surgery last week, the third Wildcat to have offseason surgery. Center Jarod Carter (shoulder) and guard Derrick Jasper (knee) both had surgery in June.

"They are missing out on valuable conditioning time, which is a major part of any team's success," coach Billy Gillispie said. "We'll try to make up for lost time when they get healthy, but it puts us at a major disadvantage going into the season."

Kentucky begins practice on Oct. 12.

Hopefully all can return healthy and get into conditioning, during the early practices and games.

I have a class with Joe, he had been wearing a brace on it nearly everyday. He told everyone it was nothing serious.

As long as he is back by the start of practice it shouldn't be a problem.
