I believe it would technically be considered a stew. I think?

From the always reliable internet, sounds like the liquid is the kicker. In soup, the liquid is the deliverer of the ingredients, whereas a stew is more about the hearty ingredients immersing together in a chunky, delicious meal. In short, you don't drink chili broth.

I am not the arbiter of this age-old question. Call it as you see fit.

Now that we have some guidelines as to what a soup is my top three in order are:

    1. Lobster bisque
    2. New England clam chowder (white)
    3. Basil and tomato bisque.

My niece's version of Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana. Her's is much better than the original. Dad called it Kaylee's Soup and it still is a staple at all family gatherings.

That's a good one. We make Zuppa Toscana and it is on point every time.

I love lobster bisque but I've only had it when going to a Sandals resort. Stuff is delicious though.

Nothing like tomato soup with crushed up Saltine crackers. Or dip a grilled cheese sandwich in it.
