    I've used this on several occasions on my computer and some others to fix problems. This is so I don't have to reformat the hard drive and lose any information. Reformatting the hard drive is where you'll have to start over.
    Sorry, I may have misspoken. What I meant to say is that in some cases you may wish to use a system restore point in the removal of a virus/malware/adware. Essentially, that is what they were created for. It reverts your CPU back to the way it was on said date, prior to the adware/malware/virus. So if you delete these points you and run into some of the more malicious viruses out there, you could have some issues that may lead to reformatting as your only option. My apologies if I wasn't clear.
